Welcome
About the Program
New York University School of Law and the IRS Office of Chief Counsel are pleased to present the Internal Revenue Service/New York University Continuing Legal Education Program for Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service, and Treasury Department employees. Employees from other Federal agencies and state tax authorities also may participate in courses.
Generally, courses are taught via satellite to participants throughout the country, and last eight weeks, meeting for 2-1/2 hours each week. Participants in the Washington, D.C. area are encouraged to attend the classes in person. Classes are taught by scholars and noted practitioners from some of the nation's top law schools and law firms.
Upon completion of a course, participants take a law school type examination with the possible grades of superior, pass, or fail. Annually, a recognition ceremony is held to honor participants who receive the grade of superior. Some of our courses offer LL.M. credit at New York University and Georgetown University. Letter grades are given to those participants pursuing LL.M. credit. All courses are pre-approved for continuing legal education (CLE) credit.
